Scream revolves around a group of friends in the small town of Woodsboro who are terrorized by a serial killer known as Ghostface, who has become a popular character for cosplayers to dress as at fan conventions. The original film also starred David Arquette, Drew Barrymore and Courtney Cox.

The movie won a huge audience and critical acclaim for Craven’s savvy dismantling of slasher-movie cliches and spawned three sequels and an MTV series that ran from 2015 to 2019. In 2022, the film series was relaunched with a new instalment that saw Campbell, Arquette and Cox return to their roles. It was followed by a sequel the following year.

Other celebrities already announced for the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo include Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito, Firefly’s Alan Tudyk and Jason Lee from My Name is Earl.
