Its L-shaped kitchen is both the star of the show and contains the surprise. On one end of the kitchen, there are two large doors that match the other cabinets. At first blush, it presents as further storage.

The only tip-off  that there is more than meet’s the eye is a sign reading “open me” pasted on the doors. Behind them is a prep kitchen, sometimes called a spice kitchen.

This area includes a stove and oven, counters and cabinets. The advantage of a space like this is that it restricts cooking-related aromas from drifting to other ends of the home. It’s also useful for hiding meal preparation messes when guests are over.

On that note, one side of the primary kitchen boasts a stretch of counter space that is considerable in size. It is easy to imagine using this surface area for spreading out an assortment of ingredients and completing tasks with other members of the family. This spot is beneath a chimney-style hoodfan flanked by floating shelves.

The kitchen island has an elegant waterfall design and space to seat at least four people.

Further enhancing the architectural interest to the main level, the dining area boxes out further than the adjacent great room.

The focal point of the 13-foot three-inch by 15-foot five inch great room is a stylish elongated fireplace surrounded in eye-catching full-height tile.

Stairs to the second level are located just off the foyer. Positioning it here rather than the back stretch of the main level, frees up square footage for spaces in which people tend to gather.

Just behind the kitchen is a sunken mudroom that accesses the garage. This creates a quick and convenient path for hauling in bags of food after a trip to the grocery store.

On the second level, there is an option to add a fifth bedroom. The standard version, as seen in the show home, has a loft instead.

Every bedroom except one has a walk-in closet. In the master bedroom, which measures 13 feet six inches by 12 feet eight inches, the closet sets up next to a grand, luxurious ensuite.

In the ensuite, there are two sinks with an expansive vanity and a makeup desk between them. This delivers plenty of elbow room and surface space for each partner to store hair and hygiene products without risk of clutter.

This lets two children in the family to get ready for their respective days at the same time, allowing for much needed efficiency on weekday mornings.
