It’s no surprise there was immense demand for tickets to the one Canadian date booked for Neil Young’s upcoming Love Earth Tour. In response, more dates were announced Thursday, which include a concert at Fort Calgary on July 20, and at Edmonton’s Fan Park in the Ice District on July 21.

Young is touring with Crazy Horse, the band that’s backed him for more than five decades. The Love Earth Tour, which kicks off in San Diego April 24, originally included just one Canadian stop in Toronto, which now has a second date booked along with shows in Winnipeg, Calgary and Edmonton before wrapping up in Burnaby, B.C. on July 23.

Not only will they be playing live shows but there’s a new record set for release this spring celebrating their musical history together. FU##IN’ UP was recorded in 2023 and includes nine songs pulled from this historic musical partnership. A limited, coloured vinyl, two-LP edition will be released by Reprise Records on April 20 for Record Store Day before an all-format release on April 26.

“In the spirit it’s offered … made this for the Horse lovers. I can’t stop it. The horse is runnin’. What a ride we have. I don’t want to mess with the vibe. I am so happy to have this to share,” Young shared in the announcement of new tour dates.

So far, the only single that’s been released is a searing, grungy guitar-laden rendition of Broken Circle (Over and Over) where Young’s voice and band harmonies affirm the steeped history shared here.

Long an advocate for social justice and equity, Young has made efforts to protect the best interests of his fans while touring and releasing music. A CD of his new album will be offered free of charge for those purchasing concert tickets. He’s also insisted on using Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange and mandated mobile-only tickets that can’t be transferred to ensure ticket prices don’t soar due to resales.

Presale tickets for select venues go on sale March 4 at 8 a.m. MST through the Neil Young Archives, the site where all of Young’s music lives, and general ticket sales will start March 7 at 10 a.m. at LiveNation.com.
