In some homes, an individual who works from home simply needs to make do. This often takes form in a setup on the dining room table.

But understandably many have found this route unsustainable.

The Lacombe 3ST is a four-bedroom 2,685-square-foot front-drive single-family model in the new community of Glacier Ridge.

Just off the foyer is a eight foot eight inch by 10 foot 11 inch flex room flex room closed off by elegant barn doors. In the show home, this space is staged with a desk and shelves.

The room, which includes a side wall window, is large enough to support a visit from a client or co-worker. Its proximity to the front door avoids the need to bring these visitors through the more personal ends of the home.

A family could also use this space for a variety of other purposes, such as children’s toy and book room.

The foyer was designed with privacy in mind, restricting view beyond the immediate area.

Overall, the home is designed with the needs of large families in mind. A central bonus room divides the second floor into distinct wings, with the master bedroom on one end and three secondary bedrooms on the other.

The children’s bedrooms are all within a few steps of a spacious full bathroom featuring a vanity with two sinks beneath a full-width mirror. This creates an efficiency on weekday mornings, allowing more than one child the opportunity to brush their teeth and fix their hair before heading to school.

The largest secondary bedroom reaches 13 feet five inches by nine feet 11 inches.

Looking to the master bedroom, its upscale ensuite stands out. In a rectangle-shaped orientation, it is well-sized, giving each piece a plenty of space.

The ensuite’s entrance is flanked by a vanity with two sinks and glass-encased shower with a black frame, respectively. The shower boasts striking full-height tile.

This ensuite makes its easier to get ready in the morning without being a disruption to one’s partner, who may not need to get up as early. It provides direct access to the walk-in closet, creating a single space with everything needed for the morning routine.

Just outside the master is a well-proportioned laundry room with a front-load washer and dryer. There’s also a tower of wire shelves, putting bleach, detergent and fabric softener within easy reach.

As a home that supports larger families, gathering spaces are another focus.

Above the second level, a loft space includes a welcoming sitting areas and walk-up bar with a sink. This connects to a 13-foot six-inch by 10-foot balcony. On warmer days, this means quality conversations with friends or family can progress to the outdoors.

On the main level, the great room sits directly across from the kitchen. Positioning of the island and sink in the kitchen makes it easy for a person in this space to maintain eye contact and engage in conversation with people sitting in the great room.

In the show home, the great room is seen with an elongated fireplace surrounded in full-height tile.

Both the kitchen and dining area line up along the rear-facing wall, which features a series of tall windows. The cooking space is displayed with a glossy full-height tile backsplash and stainless steel appliances, such as a chimney-style hoodfan.
